WGC’s three excited and energetic volunteers departed on their immersion trip to Peru on May 16. They’ve already posted some great pictures in this blog, but we wanted to give you a little taste of what they’ll be up to! Ada Gonzalez and Rolando Sanchez, UIW Ph.D. students, and Jose Garcia, a UIW International M.B.A. student, will provide business planning assistance and training for Pushaq Warmi (Guiding Women) members and other groups in the Chimbote community. Some of the topics include basic accounting, team building, and breakeven analysis. They will also visit Radio Santo Domingo to participate in the radio program the women produce. Before their May 29 return to San Antonio, the team will stop in Peru to visit with a group starting a micro-enterprise who work at the retreat house operated by Sr. Pilar Neira, CCVI. We look forward to hearing even more about the team’s collaboration with all of these women!
