A Day in Dar Es Salaam

Today the WGC group that left San Antonio on Monday had a layover day in Dar Es Salaam – which we learned isn’t technically the capital anymore, but sort of still is. We’ll have to explain that later. Some of us went on a personalized tour with our guide Jimmy and learned quite a bit of Tanzanian history from pre-colonial to colonial and also post-colonial days. Some of the Kagera Region where Bukoba is, was featured. We particularly enjoyed the National Village Museum (pictured). Tomorrow we will be up very early for our 6 a.m. flight to Bukoba. We are excited to see the BUWEA women and continue working with them on their projects! We’ll post again after we arrive.
